Vegan Chocolate Protein Shake

As a Vegan it may be difficult to reach your protein goal. In general it can be difficult to increase your protein intake as a vegan. Make this Chocolate protein shake in the morning or after the gym and you will have at least 50 grams of protein.

This chocolate protein shake is lower in calories compared to other protein shakes. This is my go to when I am running late or hungry and do not have the patience to cook.

This recipe is 100% Vegan and will have you craving the sweet and creamy shake every morning.

What you will need

  • A blender
  • Ice
  • Vegan protein powder
  • Vegan milk
  • cocoa powder unsweeten
  • Almond butter
  • banana

Measurements

  • 1 cup of ice
  • 55 grams of protein powder (typically a scoop)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 3 tbsp of cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 large banana

Step-by-step

  1. In the blender add your milk, ice, protein powder, cocoa powder, almond butter, and banana.
  2. Blend all the ingredients until smooth
  3. Serve in a cup and enjoy!

Alternatives

If you would like to add more protein and lower your calorie count you can add peanut butter powder instead of the almond butter. I personally like my protein shake more watery than thick, so I add half a cup more than the recipe suggests.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup vegan milk
  • 55 grams protein powder
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 large banana

Notes

  • For a smoother shake you can add a frozen banana. 
  • If you like to add more protein and lower the calories you can switch the almond butter to powder peanut butter. 
  • I like to add almond milk since it is lower in calories
  • Add more milk if it is too thick
